AVIATION LOSS SURVEYOR - Heathrow

A division of McLarens Young International, Airclaims is the world's leading provider of accident and incident survey and claims management within the Aviation Insurance Industry. We currently handle over 2,500 assignments annually through our global network and are one of the largest independent providers of risk and asset management services to the insurance, legal, financial and aircraft leasing markets.

Based at Heathrow with the UK Claims Team and reporting to the Director of Claims UK, we have an exciting opportunity for an Aviation Loss Surveyor to join the team.  You will take full responsibility for accident and incident survey and claims management, from occurrence through to closure and the role offers extensive national and international travel, often at short notice.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Performing survey work (technical appraisals and inspections) of all types of aircraft and reporting and making recommendations to a technical and non-technical community (Insurers, airlines and operators)

  • Project management of files and work in progress

  • Manage and forge strong partnerships with key customers whilst leading and building client relationships.

  • Identify and contribute to new business opportunities and develop awareness of market and competitor activities, providing relevant reports and information

  • Carry out general PR activities, particularly in the London market, on behalf of Airclaims

  • Undertake consultancy work and other ad hoc projects as required

  • Remain current with aviation issues and regulations.

The right individual will hold an internationally recognised aircraft maintenance engineers licence, have experience or hold type-ratings on a number of different aircraft types (general aviation, rotor wing and heavy jets) and have international travel and work experience.  You will have experience of preparing accurate aircraft structural assessments and technical repair reports and have a proven track record of managing and delivering multiple international projects.  Any additional language skills would be highly desirable.

You will also have experience of managing and coaching teams, leading and negotiating contracts with clients and other parties, and have high levels of communication (English Language), presentation and computer literacy skills.  For the right individual we offer a competitive salary along with an excellent benefits package and working environment.

Should you wish to apply, please forward a detailed CV and covering letter along with details of your current remuneration package and, if necessary, whether you will need to relocate for this role via the online application service.

We look forward to hearing from you.
