Morson has an exciting opportunity for two Production Availability Officers to join the team of a busy Aerospace Company in Yeovil. This role was advertised previously but we have received an up to date Job Spec, please see below:
JOB PURPOSE
The Production Availability Officer is to be the Assembly and Flight Line Aircraft Managers single point of contact for all material supply. Reporting to the Production SLICT Manager and working proactively to ensure the Aircraft Manager has all parts available, to the required MPP.
KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Located within the production/flight line, act as the single point of contact for all material part supply.
Utilising the kit plan, inform the Aircraft Manager of kits that shall be delivered and their proposed delivery date.
Provide accurate information, in advance, of parts that shall be within, or be omitted from the kit at the time of delivery.
Where part availability is such that the kit is to be postponed for picking, ensure the Aircraft Manager is informed. In liaison with the Aircraft Manager, agree alternate kit picking and advise the SLICT Manager and Kit Planning Team accordingly.
Ensure kits are delivered to the required MPP. Liaise with Warehouse supplier if kits are late and escalate if necessary.
Accept the kits from the Warehouse on behalf of the Aircraft Manager.
Deal with any kit discrepancies directly with the Warehouse kitting team.
Be fully aware of the material status for assets, both which are already late to the MPP requirement or are forecasted to be late for a forthcoming MPP.
Expedite material from external suppliers via the external MSM team. Ensure material priorities are understood and are being escalated and actioned appropriately.
Expedite material from within internal plant (both UK and Italy) via the internal MSM team. Ensure material priorities are understood and are being escalated and actioned appropriately.
Ensure late material priorities are understood, recorded and escalated accordingly.
Ensure late material requirements i.e. late loading to BoM are suitably recorded.
Attend daily aircraft board review meetings to review aircraft build progress, identify risks and priorities and provide current material status position. This shall include updating the board with the material status accordingly.
In liaison with Aircraft Managers, identify critical shortages that could impact the achievement of the build schedule and escalate accordingly.
Escalate all programme risks to SLICT Manager
Continually monitor the location of trailing shortages.
Expedite trailing shortages through the Warehouse processing activity
Accept receipt of trailing shortages and ensure placed in correct kitting trays and kit contents lists updated accordingly.
Submit Stores Requisitions for timely supply of Raw Material
Liaise with MRP to ensure SAP requirements allow effective and efficient delivery of components.
Ensure the MRP system is updated to reflect movement of parts from one aircraft to another.
Maintain Aircraft Build Key Milestone charts and look ahead proactively to mitigate any risk of failure to meet revenue milestones e.g. Fuel, Power On etc.
Ensure that Direct Line Feed (DLF) Material is provide with each production kit as necessary.
Coordinate corrective action for DLF supply and non-availability of DLF
Raise Quality Notifications (QN's) in order to create new requirements.
Raise Replacement Part Notes (RPN's)
Raise Service Notifications (SN's) to request parts to be returned for modification
Ensure parts for return are collected by the warehouse team and are routed through the Quarantine Store.
Support the Aircraft Manager with the generation of Production Orders.
Identify and advise opportunities to eliminate non-conformance both internally and in the supply chain ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented and documented.
Take part in business improvement initiatives and carry out business improvement activities.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Sound educational background with demonstrated competency through experience
Integrity and professional approach
Team worker who is highly customer focussed
Background in an Aerospace or high integrity manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Company Quality Systems
Computer literate, able to manipulate excel spreadsheets
Working knowledge of SAP within MM, PP and QM modules
Knowledge of assembly and/or manufacturing techniques
Good communicator
Understanding of Aircraft Build Logic and overview of the MRP function and Manufacturing Engineering
Ability to present to and train others both formally and informally
Good working knowledge of material supply and build operation activities.
