As Assistant Flight Manager Technical for British Airways at Heathrow, you’ll have a unique opportunity to build on your flight operations experience
In this ground-based role, you’ll be supporting our A320 and A380 Flight Technical Managers. This will see you playing an instrumental role in the safety, efficiency, regulatory compliance (EASA, AOC and ANO) and operational policy of our A320 family and A380 aircraft.
We’re making safety management a less reactive and a more pro-active function. You’ll play a key role in deepening our understanding of critical controls and how to manage them to greatest benefit – answering the ‘why’, not just the ‘what’. Evaluating SESMA and ASR data to understand trends and identify areas for improvement will be a key part of the role.Highlighting high-impact technical and pilot management issues, your remit will include routine safety investigations, involvement in EIS projects, manual amendments and engineering liaison.
We need someone who can quickly add value to our high-performing team. Ideally, with a degree, HND or apprenticeship in an engineering subject, your flight operations experience as a pilot or in a management role should show an in-depth understanding of relevant technical and operational issues. Knowledge of Operations Policy/Technical Manuals is required. Experience of operating Airbus aircraft, training pilots, authoring manuals and managing projects would prove useful, as would knowledge of safety management and the regulatory process.
