Assembly Technician (Manufacturing)

Hours: 37 /week. shifts 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm
Pay rate: £16.29/h LTD
Security Clearance required: ISC
Job/ Person Spec:
An Aerospace and defence company are looking to source a technician for Portsmouth site.
Hand assembly and soldering of electronic PCB’s, micro integrated circuits to ESA/ MIL SPEC standardsTrained in Clean Room disciplines and proceduresCompletion of assembly work and the recording in relevant documentation in line with AIT processes, and company lean and quality standardsPrevious experience of manufacturing processes, machines and tooling including cleaning tanks, tape bonding, vacuum attachment of modules and component formingWorking to electrical drawings, wiring schedules and BOMS (Bills of Material)Maintaining 5S principles and carry out daily audits to keep integration areas (tools, toolboxes, workstations, etc.) clean and organisedUse of chemical adhesives, epoxies and glues. Including weighing, mixing and traceability controlUnderstanding of Health and Safety requirements and controls including COSHH
Essential skills and experience:
Experience within a clean room environment in a similar industryDemonstrable experience using binocular microscopesComputer literate and experience with reading and working from drawing instructions
Use of SAP preferred not essential
ESA qualifications would be of great benefit but experience of working to a similar standard most important
Note: All applicants will be required to pass a trade test at interview. All clean room clothing and kit will be provided. Candidate will be required to work double day shifts when required, initial training period will be on straight days.
