Aviation Labour Group (ALG) Auckland is recruiting for an Airport Planning Manager. The purpose of this role is the deliver airport development planning capability as part of the Airport Development and Delivery team. The capability would include long-term master planning and short to medium term development planning.



Principal challenges include:

  • Understanding and assessing long-term impacts on airport development worldwide
  • Leading and managing across multiple clients and stakeholders
  • Being comfortable with ambiguity
  • Connecting long-term planning with implementation
  • Balancing cost, programme, and capacity
  • Driving outcomes in complex business environments



Key Accountabilities of the role:

  • Strategic Master Planning
  • Development Planning
  • Design Management
  • Urban Design
  • Relationship Management
  • Analysis/Research
  • Company contribution



More about you:

  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach and provide feedback to senior managers, combined with the ability to build strong networks with key stakeholders.
  • Well-developed skills as a team contributor, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functional lines.
  • Sound business writing and verbal communication skills, including well-developed presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and be able to make quick and quality decisions
  • Be results orientated (Self driven and motivated individual)
  • Customer centered approach



You must have:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in airport planning, master planning, architecture or similar. A masters will be looked at favourable.
  • Member of a relevant professional organisation that has experience-based entry requirements
  • Minimum ten years' post-qualification experience in a similar field in airport planning land management, transportation, master planning
