Validation Officer (Aircraft) required for contract at MOD Lyneham, SN15 4XX. This is for a 12 month ongoing contract (subject to customer requirements), paying £15.48 per hour PAYE / £19.50 per hour Ltd.

Job description

This post is part of the Training Development and Standards Organisation (TDSO) within the Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering (DSAE), responsible for the management, development and production of assessment and validation material and activity within the School of Army Aeronautical Engineering (SAAE).

Key Duties: • Production and maintenance of examination banks • Production, development and marking of written exam papers. • Invigilation of examinations • Production of practical assessment criteria and marking guides. • Conducting Practical assessments. • Gathering and collating Internal Validation data, through conducting End of Module and End of Course Discussions. • Ensure assessment processes and practices act in compliance with the requirements of course documentation and, where required Awarding Bodies. Manage the InVal process using the Training and Finance Management Information System (TAFMIS).

Person specification

Applicants must have previous experience in applying Aeronautical Engineering practices within the Air Engineering Mechanical field in a supervisory capacity.

Qualifications

Candidates must have served a recognised apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training and have obtained an ONC, BTEC or NVQ in the Aircraft (Aircraft and Engine) Trade Discipline. Applicants must also have a working knowledge of DSAT and in particular the Internal Validation processes.

Competencies

• Changing and improving

Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check.
Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is Security Check.
