***********This position is in Fayetteville, NC**************AIRCRAFT SERVICERServices aircraft, performing any combination of the following tasks. Directs incoming and outgoing aircraft near flight line to assist pilot's maneuvering of the aircraft on ground, using hand or light signals or drives light truck with guiding sign. Secures the aircraft in parking position with blocks and stakes. Operates service vehicles to replenish fuel, oil, water, waste system chemicals, oxygen, and hydraulic fluid and to remove waste. Checks for fuel contamination by draining sumps and fuel drains. Operates ground support equipment such as electrical power supply and engine starting units. Examines tires for specified air pressure and condition. Removes and replaces defective tires. Positions and removes boarding platforms to unload o load aircraft passengers. Cleans exterior or interior of aircraft, using platform ladders, brushes, rags, water, hose, and a vacuum. May deice aircraft wings and assemblies.May perform light maintenance under the guidance of an aircraft mechanic. Follows work instructions, safety procedures, and maintenance manuals in performance of assigned tasks. Documents work performed in aircraft forms, records, and Contract Field Team workbooks.Working Conditions: May be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty, and dirty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, where applicable.Experience: Must have a minimum of one and one-half years.Qualifications: Completion of Military Technical Training or comparable Civilian Trade School is desired.Certification: Must be certified to perform tasks specified in the L-3 Vertex Contract Field Team Standard Operating Procedures Manual, if required to perform those tasks.We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing.
