Job Title: Aircraft Project Manager (APM)

Aeropeople have an exciting new permanent opportunity for an experienced Aircraft project manager at our prestigious aerospace and defence client based in Cambridgeshire.

Our client specialises in the conversion, modification, maintenance and support of civil and military aircraft, defence vehicle engineering, shelter manufacture, composite solutions and the provision of personnel, training and advice. They are renowned and respected worldwide for their quality of service, engineering excellence, flexibility and reliability.

Through a recent expansion program, they are looking to recruit an Aircraft project manager to lead a multi-disciplined team in the delivery of aircraft programmes. The APM will oversee the full life cycle of the aircraft programme, from the pre-input planning process prior to the aircraft arriving to ensuring the delivery of the programme on schedule and within budget.

As an aircraft project manager, you will:

  • Have proven leadership and project management experience.
  • Possess high energy-levels with the ability to tackle difficult problems and see them through to the end.
  • Demonstrate a high level of organisation and possess strong communication skills
  • Ideally have experience in an Aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make tactical project decisions related to cost and delivery.
  • Communication across several internal departments to report on progress and identify key programme issues.
  • Regular interaction with the aircraft team to ensure that progress is being achieved in line with the plan and that product quality remains high.
  • Liaise with customer representatives.
  • Ensure the delivery of aircraft programmes in line with the allocated budget.

Education/Qualifications:

  • APMP/APMPMQ
  • Prince 2
  • Risk level 1
  • Knowledge and qualification in a vocational or specialised field, e.g. HNC/HND (NVQ-4)
  • MSP trained to intermediate level
