Morson has an exciting requirement for 6 Aircraft controllers for work at Wattisham on the Apache on a Permanent Fixed term contract starting in early January 2018 until 31st March 2019 initially with a possibility of an extension.

There is a requirement for some of the Aircraft Controllers to work days and some to work shifts, so applicants must be flexible. Ideally candidates will have some Apache experienc if not then relevant experience on other Rotary winged aircraft.

136416 - Aircraft Controller - Days

Responsible To

ALMEM/CT Forward Support

JOB PURPOSE

Aircraft maintenance, technical administration and supervision of work crew.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS - where qualified

  • Act as primary point of contact for all engineering matters on assigned aircraft.
  • Plan and progression of aircraft maintenance in order to meet the maintenance Programme.
  • Ensuring a robust daily shift brief is conducted covering all maintenance and support activities.
  • Ensuring a robust engineering handover is conducted with shift crew chief whenever transfer of maintenance activity is required.
  • Ensuring management are notified in a timely manner of any arisings/matters that could affect the contract delivery.
  • Overall management and control of the technical staff (Aircraft/Avionic Supervisors and Fitters) engaged in aircraft maintenance in his/her crew.
  • Overall supervision and control of all supporting activities to include co-ordination of aircraft moves, spares management and tool control as required.
  • Planning and supporting the recovery of aircraft forced to land away from Wattisham station if required
  • Planning and supporting the recovery of aircraft forced to land away from Wattisham station if required
  • Responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are complied with IAW depth operating procedures and other governing directives.
  • Co-ordinating immediate fire-fighting actions and all immediate reactions to any other emergencies affecting the AHDSU.
  • Management of crew leave plan to ensure sufficient staff are available to conduct planned maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting with the drafting and progressing of Mod F760 and F765's in accordance with Depth Operating Procedures
  • Authorised for second signature for own trade group as detailed in Depth Operating Procedures.
  • Carryout independent inspections as required.
  • Authorised for co-ordinating signature (clearance for flight) if required.
  • Determining the level of flight servicing required after maintenance.
  • Co-ordinating and conducting quality control checks as required.
  • Pre and post flight briefing and de-briefing of aircrew if required.
  • Attend and participate in weekly production meetings.
  • Utilise and interrogate Gold ESP system as required, including GOLDesp QA activities if required.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Must have served an aeronautical engineering apprenticeship or Civilian or Service equivalent trade training
    • Must have had a minimum 3 years working knowledge in a military aircraft engineering supervisory position
    • Must possess a thorough knowledge of UK military aircraft documentation procedures.

ORGANISATION - Carry out any other tasks within their capabilities and experience in support of the contract.

Shift Controller Details:

Responsible To
