Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) - Wick or Kirkwall Airports.

Salary up to £56.3K (including allowances) depending on experience + weekend premium payments, 22% employer’s pension contribution and a generous leave entitlement.

If so, then we have an amazing opportunity for you.  Join us as we embrace upon a major project involving the use of new and emerging air traffic systems to provide an enhanced and sustainable Air Traffic Service to the communities that we serve across the Highlands and Islands.

You must already hold:

  • A UK CAA issued ATCO Licence (issued in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340)

  • Ratings, preferably validations, in ADI (Aerodrome Control Instrument) and APP (Approach Control Procedural)

  • A Current CAA Class 3 Aviation Medical Certificate

  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Certificate at Level 5 or higher (if not a native speaker)

  • Ideally you’ll also hold a Met Observers Certificate and have a OJTI and/or Examiners Licence endorsement.

Additionally, you will be aware that you may be asked to relocate at some stage in the future from your home airport to a new ATM Centre which will be located within the Highlands and Islands region.  You will also aspire to obtaining an APS validation and to working with the latest air traffic technology.

As an experienced ATCO you will be expected to successfully validate under an accelerated Unit Training Plan.

You will be self-motivated with a flexible approach and attitude to your day-to-day work which will include a range of ATS related support tasks e.g. training, administration, and project management etc.

You will work to a shift pattern which will include weekends and public holidays, however, you will adapt a flexible approach to roster changes when required.
